Jackson was born in the borough of Queens (New York) and raised in his suburb of South Jamaica. His mother, whose name was Sabrina Jackson, was a drug dealer and she had him alone at 15 because her father did not even want to meet him. Her mother was murdered when Curtis (50 cent) was only 8 years old.
In the 1980s, during the crack epidemic, 50 began trafficking in crack under the nickname BooBoo. 50 cent with 8 years was already related to drugs and weapons and at 15 years of age he was arrested for illegal possession of narcotics. Around this time he also began to flirt with boxing and although he was arrested several more times he retired at 18 with enough money to buy a Mercedes. After reconsidering, he left the drug trade to start what was his true passion, hip hop.
